...at least in the country. I haven't driven home in the dark from work in so long. You have to be so attentive, and after being at work for 10 hours, the driving experience is more 'ugh' then anything. Plus, my biggest concern, deer.
Last night, a bit mentally exhausted, my eyes were on the constant search for deer on the side of the roads, or on them. I didn't see any, thankfully, but trying to search for them constantly for a few miles is annoying. Cars are easy to spot, they have headlights, unfortunately deers don't.
Case in point, coming home from thanksgiving after dark, I almost hit a deer about to cross the road. I didn't see it, my wife did. She yelled it out about a mere 20' before I almost hit it. It blended perfectly into the side of the road (at least to me).
I just prefer to head into work early, just so I can get home before/during dusk. It's easier to see your surroundings when daylight is still out.

I like driving in the dark. It's like your own little world, although I don't like driving in the rain in the dark.

Touché . Plus , it seems the bison has friends. Bison don't jump like deer, do they?

I guess it depends on how long of a day I had. Is it's a quick errand, I'm more alert. If it's after a long day of work, I'm more nervous about it.

I dont know if bisons can jump, but if this bull can, everyone can.
And its not the only one that has jumped over that fence

Here's my train of thought, I can't decide which is worst. A bison (I'm betting) weights a lot. If you hit it, it's going to crumple the front of your car. Because of it's weight, it might not move around a lot (I'm guessing here). A deer of the other hand, is a jumping machine, which will jump into your windshield, hurting you and the passengers via blessing animal and glass.
Let's just agree that we'd prefer to hit a squirrel over either of those two, :).

Get yourself a set of behind the grill lights. I put them there so it would be a lot harder for someone with a set of wrenches to steal them.

Being from the southwest originally, I'm not used to things getting so dark so fast (as the do up here in the midwest). I hate getting out of work at 4:30-5:00 and having it look like it's 9PM out.
But yeah, driving in the country at night is unnerving. Especially when you're young, DDing your cousins home in one cousin's modified B5 S4, and they say they want to go fast; so you downshift, put the pedal to the floor, and get the car up to 147 on a country road in Michigan. Probably not one of my best ideas, but it was fun.

Deer terrify me. I've had two try to kill me so far. One I managed to swerve around at the last instant. The other I nailed, sent it flying, and broke it's freaking neck. To paraphrase Louis C.K: I'm glad it's dead.

I usually work from 8am to 4:30pm. But with this overtime, I'm working 7am to 5:30pm. So...dark to dark...ugh.
